Expo Set Up Team
Expo is Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Summa Health Medina Medical Center Meet at the Summa Lake Medina Medical Center. Please park in the very back of the lot (around the corner from the ER) -We will unload the UHauls and move and set up the tables following Expo Layout. -Assist vendors that request help with moving supplies. -Assist timing company with unloading. Expo is Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Summa Health Medina Medical Center
EXPO: Shirt Table Set Up 1pm-2:30 PM
Set up the shirt tables, organized by color and size. There will be green shirts for the relay, competitive walk, and half marathon. The gray shirts are for the 5K runners. Expo is Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Summa Health Medina Medical Center
Expo Greeter SHIFT 2 5:15 pm -7:30
Check in at the volunteer check-in table. Distribute course maps when asked by runners. Answer questions such as...where is the start line, where are the hotels. are there restrooms on the square, etc. Expo is Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Summa Health Medina Medical Center
Finish Line Set Up 5:30 AM-7:15 AM ( Race Morning)
May 25, 2019 Food Prep. Slice fruit. Coolers set up, ice water, milk, etc. Tables set up and ready for finish line set up at 7 AM. Age 12+ Please. No strollers, dogs, etc.
Course Set Up Team 1 (Race Morning)
Date--May 25, 2019 Meet at the Square at 5:00 AM Sharp. Depart square at 5:15 AM We will have a Uhaul but some will need to follow in a car or truck. Job--Put up signs, set up water stop tables, unload water, cups, rakes, etc. for the various water steps. Teams are split into 2 so you will set up half the course. This is NOT an ideal position if you are running the half marathon. If you have a headlamp, Noxear, etc, please dress brightly.
Course Set Up Team 2 (Race morning)
Meet at the Square at 5 AM Sharp. Depart square at 5:15 AM We will have a Uhaul but some will need to follow in a car or truck. Job--Put up signs, set up water stop tables, unload water, cups, rakes, etc. for the various water steps. Teams are split into 2 so you will set up half the course. This is NOT an ideal position if you are running the half marathon. Dress brightly---Headlamp, Noxgear, etc.
Finish Line Set Up--Barricade Set Up
5:30 AM-6:00 AM Check in with Beth, Michelle or Jen and set up barricades at the finish line. Involves lifting and moving barricades. Barricades are green gates that will be near the timing truck.
Course Clean Up Team #1
Depart the square at 7:15 AM. Clean up water stops and signage for miles 1-7. We will provide a leader for this position that will drive the Uhaul. Please ride in the Uhaul or follow behind in your own car. The water stop volunteers do a pretty good job of cleaning up the stops for you, we just need to load everything (Tables, empty water bottles, trash, signs, etc) into the Uhaul and Return it to the square.
Course Clean Up: Team 2
Depart the square at 8:35. Clean up water stops and signage for miles 7.5 - 12. We will provide a leader for this position that will drive the Uhaul. Please ride in the Uhaul or follow behind in your own car. The water stop volunteers do a pretty good job of cleaning up the stops for you, we just need to load everything (Tables, empty water bottles, trash, signs, etc) into the Uhaul and Return it to the square.
Bike Marshall (on course)
Be present on the course to assist runners, follow along with the course. Please carry a cell phone. You do not have to know the course, but carefully follow posted signs and arrows to help runners correctly stay on course.
Finish Line Clean Up Team
Meet at the Start/ Finish Line on Broadway. If not arriving until 9, leave time for parking! -Help clean up finish line area. -Take trash to the dumpster When the Uhauls return from course clean up we will empty the tables, dump out the water, etc as all items will be picked up by vendors between 10:30-11AM. -Help close finish line (WHEN LAST RUNNER FINISHES) by removing food, water, milk, etc.) -Pack up remaining medals, shirts, etc. -Take down medical tents, awards tents, etc.
Course Set Up (Friday, May 24, 2019) 6 PM
Knowledge of the course is appreciated for this! We will have a team leader to help and answer questions. Meet at the Expo (Summa Health Lake Medina at 5:50 PM) Gather signs, tape, course maps, etc. Mark course for runners with road tape and directional signage. NO YOUNG CHILDREN PLEASE, this involves marking tape in between moving traffic. We want everyone to be safe! If you KNOW the course and want to make the course earlier in the day, let us know! We can make that happen!
Finish Line Volunteer
Distribute food, hand out medals, clean up as we go, etc. NO strollers, No Dogs, please do not sign up children under 13 years of age. Thank you!
In consideration of the foregoing, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors and assigns, waive and release any and all rights, claims and courses of action I have or may have against EnMotive, Ohio Challenge Series, Running Away, LLC and its affiliates, their agents, employees, officers, directors, successors and assigns and any and all sponsors, their representatives and successors, that may arise as a result of my participation in the 2019 Medina Half Marathon & 5K / Medina Runs Down Cancer Series and any pre- and post- event activities. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising, without monetary payment to me.
I accept the above waivers and disclaimers.
I understand that no matter how big or small my volunteer position is, I am essential to the success of the race. I will communicate to the director if my plans change. (WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU!)
